If you’re an Executor

Losing a loved one is a difficult time. Being an Executor brings additional responsibilities. You have to be careful to administer the Estate correctly. And at the same time you have to manage the expectations and emotions of beneficiaries.

You might not know where to start. That’s where we come in.

We offer full-service Estate administration:

  • All we need is the Will, death certificate and a list of known assets;
  • We prepare Court documents to obtain probate – this is the Court’s declaration that the Will is the deceased’s last Will, often required by banks before they release estate money;
  • We deal with banks, superfunds and other financial institutions to collect the estate assets;
  • We transfer estate properties directly to beneficiaries if required by the Will, or most commonly into your name as Executor so that you can sell the property;
  • We’ll pay any bills of the Estate; and
  • Once all assets are collected and bills paid, we distribute the Estate to the beneficiaries as the Will requires.

We know sometimes family members don’t get along. That’s why we can even prepare a document for beneficiaries to sign to make sure they can’t lodge a claim against you in the future.

There’s no need to take on the risk of administering an estate on your own.

We provide an experienced service so that you don’t have to worry about a thing.

If there is no Will

If someone you love has died without a Will you’re probably confused and worried about what to do next. We know it can be overwhelming. We’re here to help.

We can help you by:

  • applying to the Court, so you become the representative of the estate. This gives you the power to administer the estate;
  • administering the estate for you, by collecting the assets and paying the liabilities; and
  • distributing the estate in accordance with the law.

We’ll take away all of the stress and can take care of the whole process of distributing the estate for you.

Here’s what you need to do

The legal work required varies between estates, depending on the existence and complexity of the Will, the size of the estate and the types of assets.

You’ll be happy to hear that the legal costs won’t come out of your pocket, they’re paid from the estate funds.

Contact us today to make an appointment where we can discuss the Will, the assets of the estate, advise you of what’s involved and give you an estimate of our fees.
